No, she didn't. This was a part of the totally disingenuous slander against her.

And no, this brand of feminism isn't a bogeyman. You can find plenty of examples of it right here on Medium. I'm not claiming it's ubiquitous, any more than the Andrew Tate school of menininsm is ubiquitous, but it's ridiculous to say it's a bogeyman.

Although, actually, I'd be interested to know what you're thinking of when you say he's now saying "the quiet part out loud." Do you actually have a specific critique of something he's said about feminism? Or is this just vibes?

Again, if you'd actually watched earlier Peterson's content beyond a few cherrypicked clips, you'd know how ridiculous is to claim he was emboldened by his audience. Peterson, at least on the issue of manhood and responsibility, was a reasonable, empathetic guy who was obviously trying to help. And agree or disagree, I think there was a time when he was offering a really valuable role model for young people.

That has clearly changed. I wouldn't offer a word of defence for who he is today. I think it's partly audience capture, partly the radicalisation that comes from too much time on the internet, and yes, partly the psychological weight of being relentlessly attached by people who lie and slander you constantly while also claiming victimhood and virtue. I've dealt with these people myself, thankfully in infinitely smaller numbers than Peterson has, they're sickening. Resisting the urge to just say "f*** you" is hard.

And to be clear, I'm not just talking about feminists here. In fact, I'm not talking about feminists at all. These people aren't feminists any more than I consider Robin DiAngelo to be an antiracist. They're grifters and grievance baiters who have latched onto an important cause and twisted it. Somewhat like Peterson has become. But that's absolutely not how he always was. And I think unless you have some experience of being in the fray, with thousands (or in Peterson's case hundreds of thousands) of people attacking you, you don't really know what you're talking about.
