No, the contention is that we have largely moved past the barbarism of centuries ago and that this is a good thing. And in this brave new world, it is against international law to acquire new territory through conquest, a law which was written in response to Hitler's actions.

So Israel, which is in violation of that law, should respect the 1967 borders, reign in its illegal, terrorist settlers, something that no Israeli leader in history, except Yitzhak Rabin, has even attempted to do (and he was assassinated by Zionist extremists for his efforts to make peace), and should face the consequences for the war crimes committed in this (and, to be honest several other) genocidal campaigns in Palestinian territory. Almost the entire international community is in agreement on this. 153 countries at the last vote, 10 abstentions, and only 9 against. The only significant "nays" are, you guessed it, the US and Israel.

And this, by the way, is exactly the same standard we'd hold any other modern nation to. It's the same standard that the international community is holding Russia and Putin to, for example.
