No, the most important thing that everybody needs to take from it is that racism has the potential to affect everybody now. We're past the days when people could only pay attention when it was their side under attack.
Black people are gaining power in society, as is long overdue, and as they do, racism against them will begin to have consequences. That's not intended to be a threat, just a simple recognition of human nature. I'm just as conscious that racism against white people will eventually have consequences. In fact, that list of mass shootings I included shows that there are already consequences. Innocent people will be caught up in this stupidity.
So yes, duly noted, it's possible to be racist against white people. If you care about that, as I'm sure you do, try also caring about the far worse racism that black people experience. Because increasingly, one is going to lead to the other. That's the takeaway here.
