No this isn't true at all. Many people talk about the problem of glorification of violence and crime in black culture. Or the importance of two-parent families. Or the importance of making education a priority in the minds of black children.

But if you get your entire picture of genuine anti-racism from the stupidest takes on Twitter and Medium, and allow yourself to believe that they're representative, you'll be unaware of that while thinking you're well informed. But let's be honest, what does it mean that you hardly ever see these issues discussed? How engaged are you with anti-racism? How often do you dig below the very surface layer of the most laughable, outrageous takes?

If every racist was implanted with Ibram X Kendi's brain we'd have a good number of people who were even more racist (if perhaps a little dumber) than they were previously. Again, if you think he represents genuine anti-racist thought, I'm surprised you've even heard of Glenn Loury. The woke fringes and critical race theorists, which every black person with a brain is firmly opposed to, are exactly what my article is arguing against.

The stereotypical conservative ONLY talks about how black people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps, ignoring the very real issues which make it more difficult for them to do so. The stereotypical liberal ONLY talks about how black people are oppressed ignoring their responsibilty to help themselves as much as possible. They're BOTH wrong.

What we need is a more balanced approach where we acknowledge the existence of racism AND acknowledge the other factors (and their sources) which hold black people back. Then we should fix them.

I wrote an article which spends the vast majority of its time attacking the woke side of this equation, yet you cherry-picked a single line that you had a problem with and ignored the rest. THIS is why conservatives get called racist. The nature of the response strongly implies that you're not really interested in any of the problems that black people face and just want us to shut up about racism.

Would you have felt compelled to comment if this article had said that racism was just a bunch of woke people whining? I suspect not. But two lines that mention genuine racial disparities (without even citing a specific cause for them) and we're having this conversation.
