Nope, this isn't true. Kaepernick was pretty clear about wanting police reform and investment in black neighbourhoods. He set up a foundation, donated$1 milion of his own money. You can disagree with him, but you can't say he wasn't solution-oriented.

Kaepernick's protest was different in that his platform changed the way an issue was taked about. People are still taking a knee today, and though I think it's mostly just theatre at this point, the visibility of it keeps the issue of policereform in people's minds. Again, you can disagree with him, but what he did had a huge impact.

Asking "is America racist?" does none of this. There's no specific issue highlighted by it. There's no cause for people to rally behind. It leads to bickering and literally nothing else. Everybody already agrees there's racism in America. What is achieved by labelling America itself racist?
