Not sure what you mean by organisation here. Yes, Israelis, or perhaps I should say the IDF and the settlers, have been murdering Palestinians for decades. This isn’t remotely controversial, whether you “buy” it or not.

As for rape specifically, yes, both past and present, against women and men, there's a long history of sexual violence committed by the IDF. WTF indeed. Freeing Palestinian prisoners from captivity is one of Hamas' aims. Although, yes, I don't think that the rape in particular motivated Hamas to attack, and I agree that in general Hamas couldn't care less about Palestinians.

None of what I say about Israel's barbarity should be taken as justification for Hamas. I have nothing but condemnation for what Hamas did on October 7th or has done prior. But Hamas isn't a hive mind. It's made up of human beings with varying degrees of perfectly understandable motivation for hating Israel. So I’m suggesting, very strongly, that Israel would be wise to take those motivations away. If not purely because it's the right thing to do, because it will make Israel and Israelis safer.

And yes, you said that "Israelis are not even safe within the internationally recognised (1967) borders." But Israel is not within the 1967 borders. That's my point. Surely you're not arguing that if a country is violently stealing your territory, if they've built a huge wall through it, cutting you off from your place of work or worship or land or members of your family, you’re only allowed to have a problem with the bits that stick out of the official borders. No! You have a problem with the whole country! Again the settlers and the rest of Israel's land theft put all of Israel in danger.

And yes, Gaza is besieged. Egypt has a border with Gaza. This is fine. Even if they built a wall there. Israel, on the other hand, has militarised control over Gaza's airspace and international waters. Everything that goes into Gaza has to first go through Israeli security. And Israel can and has, at its whim, limited the supply of food, fuel, water and medicine into Gaza. This is a siege.

You talk about Gazans celebrating October 7th and wondering why they're hated. Fair enough. You're missing a lot of context with that question, but fine. But do you ever stop to ask why they hate Israel? Or the U.S.? Do you understand that they could ask exactly the same question? Or, in fact, a far more compelling version if it?

"They drove our grandparents from homes they lived in for generations, they steal our land and kill our children, they imprison us without charges or trial, sometimes for years, and torture us while we're in captivity.

They aid settlers as they steal our homes at gunpoint, and kick us off our grazing land, AND they celebrate on TikTok as we starve and die of thirst for an attack we didn’t commit while their army destroys everything we own, driven by their goal of completely taking over our land.

And they wonder why we hate them??"

Yes, I expect you to have sympathy with them. Because Israel has wronged these people terribly. And 99% of them have never raised a hand against Israelis. If you want to hate and condemn, Hamas, that's totally fair. But Israel has committed inexcusable sins against the other 99%.
