Oh absolutely! 😅 This is something I have to remind myself of regularly. But I'm far from writing everyone off as hopeless asses. That wasn't what I was trying to say at all.

My point about truth is that what any of us could describe as "Truth" is likely far from it. Truths change according to the times we live in and the circumstances we face and our biases and blind spots and on and on.

The Earth was at the centre of the universe until it wasn't. Newton's laws of gravity were correct until they weren't. Right now we're trying to decide if men can give birth, something that hasn't been a question for all of human history.

The point I was trying to make overall is about the importance of leaving room for doubt. And how easy it is to fail to do that. Truth is fine as a goal, as long as we take really seriously the idea that we won't reach it. We naturally seek the comfort of a "right answer". And we especially don't want to be plunged into the uncertainty of questioning the "right answers" that we have. This is the real stumbling block for most conversations I think.
