Oh, for God's sake, are you five?? Do you think repeating words like "nuance" and "asinine" (especially when you keep using the former in contexts that don't make sense) make you sound intelligent? Do you think doing so distracts from these silly strawman arguments?
I didn't say two things can't be true at the same time. I didn't say that there should be no violent groups resisting Israel's war crimes. I said that deliberately and specifically killing innocent civilians is wrong, regardless of anything else that might be happening. I'm astonished that people like yourself think this is a controversial take.
Israel is far more militarily powerful than Palestine. So yes, obviously, if you attack your far more powerful neighbour, especially while you place your military installations underneath civilian infrastructure, there's going to be a disparity in casualties. Again, I've not offered a single word in defence of Israel. I've criticised their actions several times in this conversation alone. I have no idea why you cling so desperately to this whataboutism with someone who isn't even disagreeing with you.
But more importantly, why do you think Hamas launch these attacks against their far more powerful neighbour, knowing that each time they do, innocent Palestinians will die? You talk about the Palestinian civilian casualties, and rightly so. But don't you think Hamas have Palestinian blood on their hands too? There was a ceasefire on October 6th after all.
Do you see a way to connect the dots between this attack and a free Palestine? Especially given Israel's military superiority. Do you think, in fact, that these attacks only motivate Israel to maintain the blockade?
Do you think the billions of dollars Hamas has accumulated could be better used on improving conditions in Gaza than shooting rockets at civilians in Israel (and buying mansions for themselves)? Do you think it's reasonable, given all this, to suspect that they don't care about the blockade or freeing Palestine but simply want to eradicate the Jews??
Because for all the times you've repeated the claim, you still haven't explained how Hamas have softened in their stance towards Israel. In what material sense? What evidence of this do you have beyond a few empty words? Especially in light of their actions.
Blindly insisting that Hamas have "softened" their stance, despite the considerable evidence to the contrary, is not nuance.
