Iâm not going to get drawn into a long conversation on this as it has nothing to do with the article, but this isnât a difficult argument to counter. âTreat others as you want to be treatedâ (an idea which predates Christ by at least 500 years by the way), is all thatâs required to arrive at a moral standard at least as stable as anything Christianity has arrived at.
In fact, it also encompasses the morality of things the bible is troublingly silent on or advocates such as rape, slavery and genocide.
