Please can we drop this narrative that women's lives are obviously and inherently harder than men's and therefore any demand a woman makes on a man's time and energy is reasonable?

He wasn't interested in the outcome of THIS choice. Who knows what other choices and responsibilities he took care of on a daily basis? Maybe tomorrow's dinner choice was the only thing she took care of, which is why she wouldn't just drop it when he asked her to.

You're explaining (if you were a man I'd get to say mansplaining but hey-ho) this man's life and the feelings of his wife back to him as if you know these people which if you do, I apologise, but if you don't, maybe, just maybe, you're projecting?
