Please don't judge the gemeral mood of black people by the race-baiting crap you read on Medium.
As you say, go out, meet real people, talk to them. You'll find that the overwhelming majority of black people aren't like that. Medium has just become a bit of a weird echo chamber of pettiness and exaggeration.
