So true. In fact, I'd go a step further and say that nobody seems to begin by thinking about why they're doing it. It seems to simply be an exercise that shows how "woke" you are and shows everybody else that you're a good compassionate person. If you have to demean a few kids in the process, then so be it.

This partial view of privilege subtly affirms the idea that if you have white skin you're better off than everybody else regardless of any other factors, and, of course, teachers the opposite to children of colour. It's bizarre that more people don't see it.
