Some of the arguments are, yes. But I'm not arguing against the acceptance of transgender people. I've never argued against that. I'm arguing against some of the overreach that is harming women. I'm arguing for honest conversation about those areas that isn't disingenuously portrayed as transphobia.
To be fair, I wish I had known about this legislation before I wrote the article, because I'd have included it in the part where I talk about the discrimination trans people face. Again, I'm not blind to that at all. I just don't think it's fair to say that because trans people face legitimate discrimination in some areas, we should completely overlook other legitimate issues that affect another vulnerable group. I think we can, and should, talk about all of it.
