Thanks for the feedback Jahleel. I’m definitely not trying to say that this represents the entirety of anti-racism. Far from it. But this kind of petty, nitpicking, tone-deaf anti-racism is becoming increasingly popular, and worse, is becoming how the mainstream sees the movement. It’s important to remember that the average person doesn’t get much exposure beyond what they see on Twitter or in the news.
I think it’s essential that those of us who care about fighting racism make it clear that this doesn’t represent the important work that’s being done. Keep fighting the good fight!
