That's great, and true of most progressives. The issue is that there's a growing view amongst progressives that there is only one way to achieve this aim, and that anybody who thinks differently is morally bankrupt.

Also, I'd argue that you'd have a better understanding of these issues if you broadened your social circle to include more perspectives. It's easy to talk about tolerance when everybody around you agrees with you. Diversity also means diversity of opinion.
