The key word being "constructive".

There is absolutely no value in comparing modern day civil rights to the 50s and 60s. It'sasinine to pretend things are as bad today as they were in the 50s. We weren't talking about racist sandwiches back then precisely because nobody had time to whine about stupid nonsense.

The progress made in the 60s (progress that included *ending* segregation by the way, not reintroducing it) is a result of sincere efforts to fight genuine problems instead of to get likes on Twitter.

So yes, I agree. Perfection is the enemy of good. But so is rank incompetence and self-serving virtue signalling.
