Mystal wasn't being "edgy and provocative," he wass being racist. You'd see this clear as day if a white writer had written the same thing but swapped the word "white" with "black." Perhaps made some lazy reference to crime rates or single parenthood.
Adams has also gone on to say that he wasn't talking about "all black people." Just the "bad ones." Donald Trump was also sure that among the drug-dealers and rapists coming from Mexico were some "good people."
If you're not consistent in the standards you hold people to, the standards don't mean anything. This is the central point of the article.
