The term "Afropessimism" is a part of the vernacular. It's a critical framework, like Critical Race Theory or Intersectionality. Judging by this admittedly brief reply, it seems like you and the people who coined it would be very much on the same side of the ideological fence.
So if you haven't heard it before, I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe read up on it? I'm not sure there are any broader conclusions to be drawn from that gap in your knowledge, but your analysis her couldn't be more incorrect.
I'm intrigued by your last sentence though. What black progress that "we all will see" are you imagining? I'm asking with total sincerity.
Because it seems to me there have already been dramatic examples of black progress that are viewed very differently by different people. Can you think of something that everybody would agree on as black progress and that would truly "put the past to rest"?
