As you observe, other salient factors like poverty, education (or lack thereof) and simple circumstance are ignored in the pursuit of simplistic outrage. This renders working class people who lack the requisite "victimhood credentials", or even whose victimhood is narratively inconvenient (such as black people who are killed by other black people) all but invisible.
