There is a difference between not caring about a population and wiping them out. The slaveowners didn't care about the slaves either, the segregationists didn't care about African Americans, they did everything they could to make their lives miserable, but they didn't simply slaughter them.
Interesting that you think clearing this bar of humanity is some kind of achievement.
When Israelis say human shields, it's because it makes it easier to justify killing them. Nothing more. I've never once heard an Israeli refer to the hostages as human shields. Why? Because now they're really people? People who deserve help.
You don't have to brainwash Palestinians. How do you not understand this? Do you think Nat Turner was brainwashed? Or do you think maybe his anger towards white America was somewhat inspired by the whole slavery thing?
No, the occupation "brainwashes" Palestinians. Seeing their children blown up "brainwashes" Palestinians. The daily humiliation and mistreatments of the IDF "brainwashes" Palestinians. And some minority of those 2 million brainwashed Palestinians will act in ways that are far more violent and extreme than the rest.
Yes, some Palestinians hate Jews simply because they're Jews. Some, like the Hamas terrorists, made their choice on October 7th and deserve everything they get as a result of it. But let's not pretend that there aren't plenty of Jews whose hatred of Palestinians isn't just as strong. And they don't have the excuse of an occupation.
There are several important lessons to be learned. I truly hope Israeli society learns them. But looking through my comment section, it doesn't look like self-reflection is a particularly strong suit.
