This is a lie. Laid bare by the rhetoric coming out of the mouths of Israeli politicians and the actions of the IDF. It's absolutely insane that you're trying to claim otherwise. Just wilful self-brainwashing.
Yes, I agree that Hamas is evil. But Hamas was elected in 2006. Over 70 % of the people in Gaza were either too young to vote or weren't even born when the vote took place. And of those who were born, 55% of them didn't vote for Hamas. It's so infuriatingly dishonest to keep spamming this moronic talking point. I simply don't believe anybody is stupid enough to believe it actually has merit.
But the government of Israel, who are also evil, were elected in 2022 if I'm not mistaken. Same, "river to the sea" Zionism as always, same open support and funding of settler terrorism, same right-wing extremism as Likud has always been guilty off. No condemnation there? I didn't think so.
I'm not playing coy. The time to quibble about how to describe an atrocity is when the atrocity in over. That's what happened in the case of the Holocaust, for example. In fact, genocide wan't even officially recognised as a crime at that point. Playing word games while tens of thousand of people are dying is grotesque.
As for what I think Israel should do, I think Israel should follow international law. I think they should give back the land they've stolen since 1967. I think they should stop funding and supporting their terrorist settlers. In short, I think they should do exactly what almost the entire international community has been calling for them to do since 1998.
Take some responsibility for the evil Israeli government policy has fomented in Palestine. Hamas, quite literally, is a creation of the Israeli government.
