Two points.
First, I don't think ousting Netanyahu would/will make much difference. I've come to the painful conclusion that his fundamentalist, dehumanising worldview regarding Palestinians is a majority view in Israel. Whoever replaces him, even if they stop the genocide, will almost undoubtedly allow the settlers to continue stealing Palestinian land, for example.
The only Prime Minister I'm aware of who made a meaningful attempt to stop the settlers, Yitzhak Rabin, was assassinated by a Zionist extremist who wanted the settlers to continue terrorising and murdering innocent Palestinian farmers. That's the reality of things as I see it. I'd genuinely love to see some evidence that proves me wrong.
Second, I didn't "exclude" Christian Zionists, I didn't connect Zionism to religion at any point in the piece. Because there is no connection. Christian Zionist, Atheist Zionist, Jewish Zionist, it makes no difference, my focus is entirely on the Zionist part. In fact, many of Zionism’s strongest, most outspoken critics are Orthodox, religious Jews (Zionism is widely considered to be in conflict with the teachings of the Bible/Torah, not just the murder part, the part where men reclaim Israel by force until waiting until the day God returns and gives it to them).
Because while Zionism is a political movement that occasionally hides behind religion, its sole aim is to create a Jewish ethnostate that encompasses the whole of "Greater Israel." And there is no way to do that except on the backs of the people who were unlucky enough to already be living there.
What's more, you have to keep artificially maintaining a Jewish majority by bringing Jewish people to the most dangerous place on Earth to be a Jew. Or else, by creating racist laws like the 2018 Nation-state law, that apportions rights by ethnicity.
p.s. I know what Zionism is. I thought the sarcasm about “relearning” was obvious. Zionism is a violent settler-colonial movement justifying itself with God's three-millennia-old promises. It is the insane belief that because some Jews have always lived in Palestine, all Jews, from anywhere the world, have an endless right to displace the people who have also been living there for thousands of years. There is no other honest way to look at it as far as I can see.
