Ugh, I hate even the possibilty that I'll be perceived as trivialising one kind of slavery for another, but no, this isn't why it doesn't get much chatter.

Slavery still exists in many parts of Asia, in all but name. It's actually pretty common in some parts. Sex slavery exists all over the world too. Including America.

The reason you don't hear as mcuh about it isn't that it doesn't support a white supremacy narrative. It's because it's a different kind of problem, of a different scale, in a different country, that isn't legally enforced and regulated by its government.

That and the legacy of the slave trade in America is obviously more relevant to Americans than the legacy of the slave trade in Africa. It would be strange if you didn't hear about it more.
