Ugh😅 I honestly don't know how that guy lives with churning out screeds of negativity every single day. I swear, I don't know how he can bear it.

But no, my objection is just that calling it a concession speech mischaraterises what it is. As I said in the article, arguably the most important aspect of a concession speech is to give your supporters closure. "It's over. We lost. Let's get back to supporting the country we love." That's what a concession speech is supposed to do. The negatiity of a typical election cycle is somewhat transcended and everybody looks to he future and lets go of their anger.

Trump's speech did none of this and wasn't intended to. In fact, Trump has been singularly committed to maintaining as much anger amongst his supporters as possible. To describe that as a concession is just inaccurate in my opinion. Yes, Trump is a narcissist, but so are most politicians. The difference here is that he truly doesn't care how much damage he does in satisfying his ego.
