Ugh, responding to talking points like this is like the world's most intellectually lazy version of Groundhog Day. Thankfully, I've done it so many times I can just link the replies from elsewhere.

Seriously, do you give any thought to the practicalities of these points before repeating them? Do you investigate or analyse any of the propaganda you absorb? I haven't acted like Hamas are victims. Anywhere. Ever. I simply haven't begun my analysis with the conclusion that Palestinians (who are not synonymous with Hamas) are mindless savages whose motivations are based on fanaticism and hate and that Israel is 100% in the right because they're a U.S. ally.

If your neighbours wanted to kill you for no reason, just because they were mindless, fanatical savages, yes, it might be reasonable to keep them in a cage (it might also be reasonable not to fund them and ignore detailed warnings of their impending attack unless it gave you the pretext you wanted to take over their land).

But what if they wanted to kill you because you killed their family and stole their land on the conviction that a man in the sky promised their homes to you? And then kept incrementally doing that for the next 76 years so that people who weren't paying attention would see you as the reasonable, civilised victim? Would it at least be somewhat reasonable for them to fight back under those circumstances? Even if we could have serious objections to the manner in which they fought? Does it occur to you that you would be the bad guy in that scenario??
