Uh, where are you getting this information from?! France and Britain declared war on Germany two days after Germany invaded Poland. Which they did after having already broken the agreement to stop making territorial disputes beyond the Sudetenland and invaded the rest of Czechoslovakia.
So an attempt to stop Germany after years of appeasement and literally agreeing to let him invade the Sudetenland without opposition isn't really a counterargument to my point in the article, is it? It's hardly fair to call that "attempting to hold Germany accountable."
And yes, I agree with you. The severe economic and territorial penalties Germany faced after WWI were a key factor in Hitler's rise to power. As with any war, there were many factors that led to it. But equally, the policy of appeasement of Hitler's aggression was also a key factor in the continued aggression that led to WWII.
