Well to be fair, you said this:

Which it's pretty hard not to read as "people who don't at least attempt to undergo reassignment surgery aren't trans or are just attention-seeking transvestites."

I'm sorry about your experiences with drag queens stealing from you. It seems grossly unfair to allow that experience to colour the way you talk about people who a) aren't drag queens, and b) haven't stolen anything from you or harmed you in any way.

The entire point of trying to have a reasonable conversation is to try to break down the divisions that are being placed between people. The lack of clarity of language is exactly what we're discussing. I'm just trying to have that discussion in a calm, good-faith way.
