Wholeheartedly agreed. I felt this even more strongly with Biden to be honest. It was absolutely disgraceful to watch people ignore or deny his obvious mental decline.

Yes, there are people in prison for all kinds of things. But I’m not tempted to normalise rape or pedophilia, say, as a result. Adults should expect better of themselves than to make decisions of great importance over whether their feewings got hurt on social media or their clearing a bar set by convicts.

And also yes, the results of policies are often complex. I’m not going to pretend I’m well-informed enough to pick apart the details of every decision Trump or Biden made and how it created the economic position the United States is in today. Not even close.

But I do know that it’s mind-numbingly simplistic to say, “my groceries are more expensive today than four years ago, and even though there was a worldwide pandemic and a war in Ukraine and the globally determined vagaries of inflation and shareholder pressure and corporate greed in between, I’m expecting everything to just magically snap back to how it was four years ago if I vote for Trump.”
