Why is there such a desperate need to cling to this narrative? If you're determined to convince yourself that the issue here is "white supremacy" (whatever that even means at this point), you'll always be able to do it. But the philosophical arguments you'll construct to justify the position will do precisely nothing to end police brutality.

And no, of course I'm not resting my argument on a single case. The point I'm making is that the overwhelming majority of cases of police brutality don't make it into the mainstream press. My Twitter feed pops up a new case of a police officer abusing their power at least once a day. With people of all colours. But we pretty much only hear about them if they give us an opportunity to talk about race. Not sure how I could have been clearer on that point.

Police brutality isn't a race problem, it's a police problem. You might argue that the police have both problems. And I'd agree with you. But then it's a question of priorities. I'd rather we fixed the brutality problem (and still had to figure out what to do about the excessive traffic stops), than fix the racism problem, and still have to figure out what to do about the police beating civilians of all colours to death.

The failure to address the actual problem is why BLM's "activism" has been so ineffective. Well, that and the embezzlement.
