I couldn't agree more with the above. It seems obvious in some of his interviews and in the videos where he's speaking with his patreons that he's a compassionate, decent man. But he definitely doesn't do himself any favours.

There's a tough guy persona which he sometimes adopts which makes it easy to villainise him. Plus, as you said, he seems reluctant to clarify his position on certain points, even when given the opportunity.
