Yeah absolutely. This exact point was in an earlier edit in fact. Some of this stuff is nonsensical for the same reason that secret handshakes are complicated. They need to function as recognisable markers of group membership.
Small point of geekery though, simulation theory is a thing! There's a perfectly reasonable philosophical argument to be made for the claim that we're living in a simulation. There's no way to prove it of course, just as there's no way to prove that God exists or that we're not all brains in vats. But probabilistically speaking, I don't see the flaw in the argument.
