Yeah, everybody does this sometimes. It's normal to want to be right and to try to avoid the discomfort of examining your beliefs. But again, it's not "one segment", it's everybody.

I'm sure you can think of numerous examples of the left legitimising censorship, and I'd probably agree with you on many of them. The ever broadening definition of hate speech is a good example. But the same argument would be made for Republican efforts to ban CRT or to block the Jan 6th commission, for example.

In the end, maybe the question is simply; can we examine our own views, and our own "side", with the same diligence as we examine "the other side"? And can we keep in mind that the news we consume is very likely skewed to warp our perceptions of both sides.

Knowing that we don't quite see eye to eye on a number of topics, I actually really appreciate that you often engage and always do so politely and reasonably. This is what we need more of. And, to everybody's detriment, is what's becoming increasingly rare in public discourse.
