I'd seen the "whiteness as gaslighting" plenty of times, but what astonishes me is the number of black people who have bought into the "whiteness as pretty much everything that defines modern civilisation" argument.

I wonder what these people think the answer is? Maybe the only way to be authentically black is to live in the savannah wearing a loincloth and picking berries. Now that sounds like progress...
