Yeah, I see some of what you describe too. There are many side effects of this cynicism. And they’re toxic to everybody they touch. One of the things that frustrates me the most about the current racial climate is how many black people are unwittingly poisoning themselves and their environment with unjustified negativity. But this cynicism isn’t really surprising when the media is constantly enforcing a message that the world, and especially white people, are against them.

Yes, racism is a real problem. It exists in sometimes subtle ways. But as you say, it's become a convenient scapegoat for too many people. And it's psychologically poisonous. I'm sorry you were caught up in it.
