Yeah, I'd say that if you want to get an understanding of how black people experience the world you won't find it in a book written by millionaires who are paid to talk about racism like it's still 1865.

I can't say it enough; black people are just people like everybody else.

The vast majority of people, black and otherwise, spend their days living their lives, making ends meet, keeping their loved ones happy. They have far more interesting things to think about than the colour of their skin.

True, the hyper-racialised moment we're living through makes some people more conscious of their race than they otherwise would be, but that's because of things like the misleading picture of police shootings of black people or the fact that every incident involving a black person is now called racism.

We're being taught to be afraid, and it's only if you take the time to look at the figures as I and other writers have (but most people understabdably don't), that you get a more realistic picture of what's going on.
