Yeah, I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but I'm not sure I can fully express how little I care about your credentials or what books you've read. If you can non-ironically suggest that black people should be thanking white people for their help and asking for their help "again", you have some Tulsa-sized gremlins in your blind spot. Or should that be Wilmington-sized? Or Slocum-sized? Or Little Rock-sized? Or...ah, you get the idea.

I don't hold all white people responsible for any of this. That would be idiotic. But equally idiotic is to imply that white people as a whole deserve thanks because of the tiny fraction of white people who were responsible for atrocities like this, who tried to help repair the damage caused. And if you do know your history, you know I haven't even scratched the surface.

There is, thankfully, a great deal of room between demonising all white people (if you'll note, we're chatting in the comments of an article arguing against demonising white people. One that I wrote), and thanking them for what is, in most cases, nothing.

I'm will gladly join hands (funilly enough, I wrote that exact line in an article), with anybody regardless of colour, who wants to make the world a better place for other people. I spend a lot of time arguing against anti-white racism and taking a fair amount of flack for doing so. Again, I don't expect thanks for that. But don't be offended if I highlight how unbelievably tone-deaf it is for you to suggest anybody, least of all black people, should be thanking white people for the work, that only a tiny minority of them bothered to do.
