Yeah, looks like they first appeared in February 2021. And yes, I know that BLM is also an umbrella. As I already pointed out, several chapters of BLM have sued or complained about BLM Global Network because that's the main donation-receiving, money distributing body.

The failures and flaws of BLM proper are all I'm talking about. Obviously I'm not blaming every single chapter of BLM for things that are out of their control. I know that a lot of activism and community work is quiet and painstaking and frustrating and doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

But when most people think about BLM, when they donate their money, they're thinking about the global network or "BLM proper.". They're thinking about ending police brutality which they see as a "black issue." They're supporting initiatives like defund/abolish the police that are broadly unpopular with poor, crime-affected black people. And while BLM Global Network doesn't necessarily guide the smaller chapters, they do, are at least are supposed to, fund them.
