Yeah, the point Was trying to make is that to get to the truth on any issue, you have to risk being wrong. You have to resist the urge to jump to a conclusion because it's comforting to your ideological worldview. And you especially need to resist the urge to ignore arguments simply because you don't like the person who made them.

So many important issues are being made more complicated than they need to be because of one or all of these cognitive flaws.
