Yeah, this is the tricky point. If we can't agree on exactly when a foetus becomes baby we can't agree on whether we're "killing" it. But we can, hopefully, agree that the woman involved should have a say in what happens.

I think there should be a limit to the point where a woman can have an elective abortion. I think most people do. As I said, there's a point where we're obviously talking about a baby and not just a clump of cells. But Roe vs Wade provided that. The people fighting Roe are fighting to impose their religious beliefs on others. Nobody is forcing people who believe that foetuses are children to have abortions. I don't think anybody should be able to force people who don't believe that foetuses are children to carry them to term.

All that said, I understand the discomfort. Truly I do. Anybody who claims they don't is a liar or is refusing to think. But a) this debate can't be divorced from the notion of forcing women to carry a baby to term. That's a huge deal in and of itself. And b) all the evidence shows that abortion bans don't prevent abortions to any meaningful degree. They just lead to dead or permanently injured/infertile women.
