Yeah, this isn't to imply that people who aren't liberals aren't kind. It's to say that liberals, generally speaking, hold this desire as a political lens in a way that conservatives typically don’t. As I said, this can be a fault. “Kindness”, isn’t always always a productive way to approach complex social issues, and often leads to short-sighted thinking.
There are many worthwhile political lenses. For example, I’d argue that conservatives are more likely to value stability and safety. This lens also has its pros and cons. I think the point is to be aware of what your lens is and to understand its strengths and weaknesses.
