Yeah, this might be a big topic to address in a comment, but let's just say I couldn't disagree with this more strongly. The idea that cultures should silo themselves off from each other and each other's achievements is so transparently ridiculous that I don't know where to begin.
I think this little controversy a few years ago does a good job of highlighting the ridiculousness; a black man complaining about a chinese man's dreadlocks whilst sporting Chinese tattoos.

We should be celebrating our differences and learning from them. As we have done from millenia. We should be respectful, of course, but I think the vast majority of people are respectful. In fact, interest in the culture is usually itself a sign of respect.
There seem to be a certain group of "social justice crusaders" who want us all to be completely segregated. No interaction, no sharing the uniqueness of our history, no acknowledgement of oru common humanity. I'm not exaggerating when I say I think these people are the greatest obstacle to improving race relations in the world today.
