Yep, this really sums it up perfectly. It's so frustrating how much time you have to spend explaining that you're not against trans people if you simultaneously support women. The way this has turned into a zero-sum game in some people's minds is tragic and infuriating.

Mainly because, as you say, the "activists" are so completely indifferent to women's rights and needs, that if you remind them women exist too, or point out the obvious problems with self ID, you're immediately branded a monster. Just as Rowling has been.

It's bizarre how I've never met a trans person in real life who can't understand the need to balance women's and trans people's rights, and yet I've only met a tiny handful of trans people online who are willing to acknowledge that women's rights even exist.
