Yes, and the reason I said the trope is dumb is that it totally and deliberately ignores the various reasons why Jews in the Middle East moved to Israel. It treats all decreases in Jewish population as de-facto evidence of antisemitism and persecution. I already made this point in the previous reply.
I also acknowledged and still acknowledge that Jews have faced persecution for centuries and faced it after the formation of Israel too (for reasons I've already stated). I've already pointed out that this was wrong. But as I said, the main reason Jews left other parts of the Middle East were pull factors. That doesn't mean there weren't other factors like antisemitic persecution. It means simply saying, "NuMbErS Go DoWn So aNtISeMiTiSm" is brainless.
The guy I was responding to literally included Gaza (!!!) as an example of Jewish flight from persecution for God's sake.
Israel isn't and wasn't terrifying, it was simply built upon an enormous injustice. One that the victims were (quite understandably) unwilling to just ignore and move on from. And one that drove other people to wrongly demonise all Jews (largely because dishonest Zionists constantly try to claim that Judaism and Zionism are the same thing).
Lastly, man, I've been called an antisemite a thousand times by morons in this article alone. I honestly couldn't care less if you're "leaning" towards the same conclusion. It's just so cynical and lazy to accuse everybody who disagrees with you of hating you. But I guess that's all identity politics has become now; lazily accusing people of hate so you can avoid addressing the facts. Hence the intro to this article, actually.
