Yes, I understand that. I’m not criticising her for a lack of perfectly rational behaviour. I’m not even criticising her for calling the police. I’m criticising her for threatening to call the police and lie. She specified in that threat that she was going to mention his race. This might have had no bearing on the actions of the police officer who responded, but clearly it had a bearing in her mind.
She then calls the police and says there’s an African American man “threatening her life”. There is no reasonable reading of the situation which makes that true. But it does raise the alert level of the officers who will attend the scene.
I cannot understand the desire to twist yourself into knots trying to defend this. Even if you assume (wrongly) that I’m biased because I’m black. The police charged her with filing a false report after getting the facts of the case.
