I wonder if Netanyahu could have gotten them all out months and months ago but blocked deal after deal because he is a war-mongering-land-stealing religious extremist. If Hamas were my neighbour it would be because I'd made so many heinous moral and political errors, over such a long period of time, that I'd now painted myself into a corner where diplomacy was infinitely harder than it had to be. In such a situation, I hope at least, I would have the maturity to take responsibility for my failings and correct them instead of compounding them even further.
