Yes, they are. But either we accept the idea that this sentiment didn't arise out of nowhere and that most non-Hamas Palestinians are ready for peace if Israel is willing to acknowledge that it's not blameless here, or we say that war in the region is inevitable and will be permanent, which is what Hamas is saying.
For example, if we're talking about a debt in human lives, Israel is already well in the black. Hamas killed 1200 people. Israel has already killed over 4000 children and over 10,000 Palestinians, almost all of them civilians. As Bassem Youssef put it, what is the exchange rate for Israeli/Palestinian life? How many more Palestinians do you think need to die before the "bill due" is paid? You talk about human life so glibly here. Have the courage to put a number on it.
