Yes, obviously I was being facetious about Netflix and Instagram. Although, of course, plenty of the "anti-Israel propaganda" is coming from the IDF. I even linked to some of it in my other reply to you.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed than an army would be so stupid, so proud of their grotesquery, that they'd record themselves committing war crimes and dehumanising civilians (although I guess Hamas did this too, so there's something else the two have in common). I'm sure this says nothing about the general attitude of the IDF towards Palestinians or the likelihood that they'll be punished for their actions or whether their actions are totally normalised within the IDF and there's probably much worse that we aren't seeing.

And the problem you have with your whataboutisms about the persecution of Jews is that I already agree with you. Yes, antisemitism is real and wrong. Yes, Jews throughout history have been subjected to horrifying oppression. Yes, there have long been people in the Middle East and around the world who hate Jews simply because they're Jewish and for reasons that have nothing to do with Israel or Zionism. No, this doesn't justify Israel's cruel, illegal occupation and its genocidal behaviour in Gaza.

Every single word you have to say in defence of the Jewish people in general or of the wrongness of killing Israeli civilians, I almost certainly agree with already. Every word of condemnation you have for Hamas' atrocities I not only agree with but have probably already written myself in an article. The only reason we're arguing is that you're incapable of extending the same degree of moral clarity and human decency to the killing of Palestinian civilians and the atrocities committed by Israel. And when you make a half-hearted attempt, it's invariably accompanied by increasingly disingenuous, mealy-mouthed excuses.

p.s. please keep MLK's name out of your mouth if you don't (and you clearly don't) understand what he was fighting for. The unjust peace he was talking about is exactly what you're advocating for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. In fact, what you're arguing for is worse even than segregation.

MLK didn't advocate justice for some. Nor do I. He didn't look at the oppression of black people and use it to justify any crimes or violence they committed. He didn't tacitly support the notion of black supremacy because black people had suffered for centuries under white supremacy. In his own words:

"...a doctrine of black supremacy is as dangerous as a doctrine of white supremacy. God is not interested merely in the freedom of black men and brown men and yellow men, but God is interested in the freedom of the whole human race and the creation of a society where all men will live together as brothers."

Note, ALL MEN. For the purposes of this discussion, that means Israelis and Palestinians.

So unless you're arguing, at the very least, for Israel to withdraw to the 1967 borders, including the demolition of the parts of the West Bank barrier that encroach on Palestinian land, unless you're arguing for the removal of the settlers and actual justice for those who killed Palestinians and stole their homes, unless you're arguing against things like Israel’s 2018 nation-state law that says, in black and white, that non-Jews living in Israel have no right of self-determination, then you're advocating for the exact same discrimination and violence that MLK gave his life opposing.
