You cannot imagine how infuriating it is to spend literally a year at this point, listening to people prattle off the exact same thought-free talking points over and over again, about a conflict they barely understand, all while tens of thousands of people die. And do so while never having even tried to understand the conflict they're prattling on about from the perspective of the only people with a legitimate claim to being the victims.
The Palestinians lived in Palestine, alongside Jews and Christians, for hundreds of years. In the 1920s and 30s, Zionist Jews began stealthy buying up land from under them and evicting them and carrying out terrorist raids against their villages. In 1948, 750,000 of them were driven from their homes or killed because Britain had unilaterally decided to establish a state in their midsts and ignore their requests to negotiate the terms. What did they do to deserve any of that? What justifies the people who did it? Why are "you people" so unfailingly on the side of the aggressors?
I’ve spent a great deal of time over the past year reading and thinking about his conflict. This avenue is open to all of the people who are still, a year later, presenting me with these same brainless arguments. They could, at the very least, do a minimal amount of research on the specific aspects of the conflict they’re so vocal about. Literally Wikipedia would do. But they don’t.
Believe me, it is taking a superhuman number of "breaths" to be as minimally polite as I have been.
