You just can't see what a blinkered, western-centric view this is, can you? Who designates organisations terrorist groups? Who gets to decide who ar e"true terrorists"? Again, who do you think you'd see as terrorists if you were unlucky enough to be born in Gaza? Do their opinions not count? Only the opinions of U.S. politicians living thousands of miles from the carnage?

Israel does take hostages. Far more than Hamas. Israel frequently places Palestinian prisoners in "administrative detention" where they can be held without charge or trial for months, even years, They'e often tortured while they're there. Just yesterday, four "released" prisoners were executed by Israel, their hands still handcuffed behind their backs.

Israel has killed over 37,000 people in Gaza. some at weddings, some at school, some just minding their own business, some actively surrendering. There are mass graves outside hospitals. The IDF have themselves admitted that they killed Israelis at the Nova festival under their Hannibal Directive. But yes, sure, Hamas are the only "true" terrorists here.🙄

And yes, one of the many sources of shock and horror regarding the IDF's behaviour is that they have recorded videos of themselves rejoicing as they kill innocent Palestinians and destroy their homes.

Native Americans also fought and killed Americans. Understandably so. But the difference was that they cared about their civilian population enough, and Americans were brutal enough, that they stopped fighting to preserve themselves. Hamas doesn't. But I doesn't change the question of who is in the wrong. To say, "well, the Native Americans were mistreated even more cruelly than the Palestinians, so where do the Palestinians get off fighting back?!" is just insane.

Would you accept the treatment the Palestinians endured? Would you expect the rest of America to do so if attacked and displaced by a powerful enemy? If not, your problem is that you see yourself as more deserving of humanity than they are.

As I wrote recently, some of the slave revolts were absolutely awful. Nat Turner and his men murdered babies in their cribs. You can and should condemn that kind of barbarity. But it doesn't change the fact that it only happened because of the cruelty of the institution of slavery.

Israel is a country surrounded by enemies because it created those enemies with its own barbarism and colonialism. It's so wild that you're still blind to this. Israel couldn't turn the other cheek, because Israel is the aggressor. Despite what you've been brainwashed into believing, Hamas didn't come into being out of simple hatred for Jews, they came into being because hatred for Israel metastasised into hatred for Jews after decades of oppresion.

Jews have been living in that part of the world, mostly in peace with the Muslims and Christians who lived there, for millennia. Zionism changed that. Not Palestinians.
