You're right. Thanks for pointing this out. I'll add a correction. I based this on Dave's comments in the special but I misinterpreted him. He says six days after a particular night, not six days after her tweet.

But as for the tweets "rising to the level", what is an acceptable level of hate to direct at somebody for making a perfectly reasonable comment? Also, note how many responses were deleted, and consider that if the public facing comments were this offensive, the private ones would have been far, far worse. It's unacceptable to justify hatred simply because it doesn't fit your narrative.

Let's not pretend that if a trans person had been attacked by "the right" and killed themselves a month later, you'd be making the same argument you make here.

As for the "highly-dangerous to trans folk" part, I really wish we could move beyond this kind of rhetoric, but sadly it seems to be an involuntary reflex at this point. A minor mistake about a timeline is "highly dangerous"?! Seriously? Please believe me when I say that this kind of hyperbole makes people take you less seriously.

Not everything needs to be presented as a matter iof life and death to make people listen. Indeed, presenting everything this way makes people listen less to the genuine issues. Do they not tell kids the story of the boy who cried wolf anymore?
